This FAQ answers the most common questions regarding the suspension (fork and shock) of the Spindrift 5 AL.
Q: What are the fork installation dimensions for the Spindrift 5 AL?
A: A maximum fork travel of 200 mm is approved. The maximum fork length or installation height (axle to crown) is 606 mm. Dual crown forks are also approved.
Note: Which brake adapter fits the respective fork depends on the fork model and the desired disc size. If in doubt, have this checked at a specialist workshop.
Q: What are the installation dimensions of the shock?
A: The shock requires an installation dimension of 230 x 65 mm. The bushings have a top measurement of 8 x 20 mm and a bottom measurement of 8 x 30 mm. These are not sold separately.
Q: Can I use a coil shock – and what spring rate do I need?
A: Yes, a coil shock is possible. The appropriate spring rate depends on your system weight:
