PROPAIN Crash Replacement

Our PROPAIN Crash Replacement (PCR) comes into play where the warranty ends. In the event of falls and accidents, significant forces can act on the bike, damaging parts or the entire bike, making safe riding impossible. This is why we introduced our PCR program. It allows the original owner to replace damaged frame parts at a low cost.

Important Note: The PCR program is a voluntary additional service. There is no binding entitlement, and it is limited to the original owner of the frame. The PCR program applies exclusively to the frame that has been damaged in a fall/accident. Propain reserves the right not to offer this service if there is reason to suspect that the damage to the frame was intentionally caused.

Category 1: Use exclusively on paved paths

Category 1 refers to the use of bicycles and their components on paved paths. The wheels remain in constant contact with the ground.
Category 2: Use on and off the road and steps up to 15 cm

Category 2 refers to the use of bicycles and their components under the conditions of Category 1 as well as on gravel paths and moderate trails. The wheels may lose contact with the ground. Steps can reach a maximum height of 15 cm.

Category 3: Use in rough terrain and jumps up to 61 cm

Category 3 refers to the use of bicycles and their components under the conditions of Categories 1 and 2 as well as on rough trails, rough and unpaved terrain that requires advanced riding skills. Jumps and steps can reach a maximum height of 61 cm.
Category 4: Use in rough terrain and jumps up to 122 cm

Category 4 refers to the use of bicycles and their components under the conditions of Categories 1, 2, and 3 as well as in very rough and partially blocked terrain with steeper slopes and consequently higher speeds. Regular moderate jumps by skilled riders pose no problem for these bikes. However, regular and prolonged use of the bikes on North Shore trails and in bike parks should be avoided. Due to the increased loads, these bikes should be checked for possible damage after each ride. Full-suspension bikes with medium travel are typical for this category.

Category 5: Extreme use area (Downhill, Freeride, Dirt)

Category 5 refers to the use of bicycles and their components under the conditions of Categories 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well as in demanding, heavily blocked, and extremely steep terrain that can only be tackled by technically skilled and very well-trained riders. Larger jumps at very high speeds and the intensive use of designated bike parks or downhill trails are typical for this category. It is essential to ensure that an intensive inspection for possible damage occurs after each ride. Pre-existing damage can lead to failure under significantly lower subsequent loads. Regular replacement of safety-relevant components should also be considered. Wearing special protectors is strongly recommended. Full-suspension bikes with long travel, as well as dirt bikes, characterize this category.
