Q: What fork installation dimensions apply to the Spindrift 5 CF?
A: A maximum fork travel of 190 mm is permitted. The maximum fork length or installation height (from axle to cone) is 606 mm. Dual crown forks are also approved.
Note: The brake adapter that fits each fork depends on the fork model and the desired rotor size. If in doubt, have this checked at a specialist workshop.
Q: What is the installation measurement for the shock?
A: The shock requires an installation measurement of 230 x 65 mm. Approved options include RockShox Vivid Ultimate, Fox X2 Factory, and Vivid Coil Select R.
Q: Can I use a coil shock – and what spring rate do I need?
A: Yes, a coil shock is possible. The appropriate spring rate depends on your system weight:
| System Weight | Spring Rate |
|---|---|
| 64–75 kg | 350 lb |
| 74–85 kg | 400 lb |
| 84–94 kg | 450 lb |
| 93–103 kg | 500 lb |
| 102–112 kg | 550 lb |
| 111–120 kg | 600 lb |
Note: If in doubt, have the appropriate spring rate checked at your specialist workshop or with our support.
Q: Which shock models are explicitly approved and tested?
A: Currently, the Öhlins TTX1 Air and TTX2 Air have been tested and approved for the Spindrift 5 CF.
Note: The valve on the Öhlins TTX1 Air is very close to the frame – watch for possible collisions. A shock pump with a connection diameter over 15 mm may not be connectable.
