Which parts on my bike are wear parts and how often should I check or replace them?

Wear parts are all components that continuously wear out due to use, load, and environmental influences. This includes, among other things:

    • Brake pads and brake discs

    • Chain, cassette, and chainring

    • Tires

    • Bearings (e.g., hubs, rear triangle, headset)

    • Seals and sliding surfaces on suspension components

How often you should check or replace these parts cannot be generalized. The crucial factors are:

    • Usage intensity (frequency and duration of rides)

    • Application area (e.g., road, trail, bike park)

    • Weather conditions (moisture, dirt, dust)

    • Condition of your bike

In general: Regular visual and functional inspections are the best way to detect wear early and prevent consequential damage.

A clear recommendation: Refer to the respective operating manuals of the installed components and adhere to the maintenance intervals defined there.
