What do I need to consider when placing an order?

First, you need to register on the JobRad portal. You will receive the company ID for the JobRad portal from your employer. When placing your order, don't forget to check whether the accessories you want are eligible for leasing. An overview of leasing-eligible accessories can be found here. My employer specifies a certain budget, but the configuration of my bike exceeds this. Is it possible to pay part separately or purchase a voucher?

No, unfortunately, this is not possible.

What happens after I confirm the offer in the JobRad portal?

Once your offer has been confirmed by you and JobRad, we will receive the leasing approval from JobRad. We will then send you an email confirming the leasing approval and informing you of the expected shipping date. Once you have received the bike, you only need to confirm the takeover in the JobRad portal.

Can I make changes after placing the order?

Unfortunately, no changes can be made after the order.

How does the takeover of the bike and the activation of the leasing work?

Upon shipping: after the production of your dream bike, we indicate in the JobRad portal that it is ready for handover and ship it to you. After receiving the bike, you have five working days to check whether the JobRad and any accessories are free of defects and have been delivered in full. Only then do you confirm the takeover in the JobRad portal. Please note that the JobRad must not be put into operation before the takeover confirmation and that there is no insurance coverage in place. Subsequently, we will invoice the order, and your leasing will start on the 1st of the following month.

    What service does JobRad offer?

Every JobRad is automatically covered by comprehensive insurance, including a mobility guarantee. A flat tire, worn brake pads, or a worn bicycle chain – wear and tear is to be expected, especially with frequent use of the bike. The JobRad insurance partner provides an annual budget for wear and tear repairs.

Why is JobRad cheaper than direct purchase?

The savings arise from various factors. The benefit in kind "company bike" has been tax-free in Austria since 2020 and does not constitute a taxable benefit. Since January 1, 2023, this benefit reduces the contribution base for social security contributions (provided JobRad users do not earn above the maximum contribution base) and lowers monthly wage deductions. The conversion rate additionally reduces taxable income. If the company is entitled to deduct input tax, employees also save the value-added tax. If employers decide to cover a portion of the monthly costs, the savings for employees increase further.

How does the JobRad model work?

Employees can choose their individual company bike from Propain within the approved budget by their employer. The employer acts as the lessee and provides the bike to the respective employee for use. A transfer agreement regulates the use of the company bike for 36 or 48 months, depending on the chosen term.

This short video explains the JobRad model quickly and easily.

What distinguishes a JobRad from a conventional bike?

The bike itself is not different; only the ownership arrangements are different. A company bike from JobRad is a bike that an employer leases from the leasing provider for a specific period and allows it to be used by the respective employee – for commuting and everyday use. A JobRad can be any type of bike or e-bike (up to 25 km/h) from any manufacturer or brand. Additionally, insurance is mandatory for all JobRads. With the included insurance package – consisting of comprehensive insurance including a mobility guarantee and a wear and tear flat rate, both JobRads and JobRad users are reliably protected throughout the entire leasing period.

What do employees need to do to get a JobRad?

If your employer is not yet a JobRad employer, simply talk to them and ask them to contact JobRad Austria. After signing the contract package between JobRad and the company, you can submit a budget request and choose your desired bike.
